Luca Who?

Luca Staffiere is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and performer whose work bridges the worlds of contemporary music, multimedia collaboration, and pop music. His early passion for progressive rock led him to begin composing at the age of 15. Alongside his formal studies in foreign languages, literature, singing, and double bass, Luca pursued anthropology at Humboldt University and composition at the Berlin University of the Arts, immersing himself fully in Berlin’s vibrant contemporary music scene.

Luca’s music often draws inspiration from mechanical rhythms and machine-like sounds, a fascination he explores alongside harmonic innovation through microtonality, always with a spirit of playfulness.

He has received scholarships from the Ad Infinitum Foundation, the German Orchestra Foundation, the Mozart-Labor, and GVL, and his compositions have been performed by ensembles such as Adapter, Mosaik, and Kaleidoskop. He is also an active member of two contrasting musical groups: playing bass in the traditional folk ensemble Al-Troubaz and electric guitar in the avant-garde KOLLEKTIV UNRUHE.
